A brief issue....

.... this month, which is probably good news for you all! I'm still recovering from the ups and downs of Choir life.

I have now ordered the Willcocks 5 carol books and a new stand-alone carol for this year, as well as the additional copies of the Fauré Requiem that are required. Hopefully the heavy parcel will be delivered by early in May. The Christmas music programme will be devised by the time we get to Music Checking, so your folders will need a bit of revising as well as tidying! Please do plan to attend on Tuesday 16th July - it really shouldn't be up to someone else to sort out your music for you, least of all Jeannette who has enough on her plate sorting the music in and out of the archive.

I'd really like us to finish the learning the Philip Neri Mass during May, as well as make a start on the Fauré, so quite a bit of work to do before we consider winding down for the summer.

Hopefully our day out in June will see the sun shining on us, though not too hot for comfort!

A reminder

I don't live in Norbury! Apologies for non-attendance are always gratefully received and appreciated but emailing them after 6.30pm on a Tuesday is a sure way to 'miss the boat'! Tony

Dates List

The latest Dates List (dated 25th April) is available to print out and transfer into your diaries HERE. Please make a special note of Saturday 26th October as the final major rehearsal for the Fauré Requiem. Also, I'd be grateful if you would note that the 2014 Lenten Meditation is not currently shown as a result of rightful submissions from your Committee and Antony that it be held (should we do it) earlier in Lent.

Please continue to remember.....

Anne M. Mary E. & Frank, and Jo T. in your prayers.

Outing to Finchcocks Musical Museum 9th June

10:15 (promptly!) Depart from Green Lane near Hermitage Lane

The rest you know!

This month's quiz question

The male Baritone voice has a compass between that of a Bass and that of a Tenor. What name is given to the female voice that has a compass between the Soprano and Contralto voices.

There have been only six entries for the April quiz question.... getting tricky?!

And finally.....

The 2013 BBC Proms programme has recently been announced. If you're into Wagner, or perhaps Verdi (THIS should be a great evening), then it's the year for you! Britten and Tchaikovsky feature heavily too. Discover more about this year's Promenade Concerts HERE.

The organ only seems to have one solo outing in its own right, at 4.30pm on Monday 26th August. That said, it will, I suggest, be a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining event. Richard Hills is a hugely well known and talented organist, and the Albert Hall organ should sound thrilling under his hands and feet - watch HERE.
