St. Bartholomew's Polyphony Choir UPDATE  OCTOBER 2013

A little later than usual

After a hectic September and early part of October I'm running a little late with UPDATE this month. So this issue is going to be very short and not always to the point!

After saying (kind of) farewell to Jo and a very Happy 60th to Jeannette, I was reminded that three of you have 70ths coming up in 2014. Amazing!!! I'm sure we'll find the time to celebrate at some stage during the year. I wonder if any of you can remember the last time we had someone in their 90s in the Choir? I'm sure I can remember at least one. A few more in their 30s wouldn't go adrift, and be good for the health of the Choir's future.

A very warm welcome to George in the Tenors, who, as Sophie did a little while back, reduces our average age somewhat favourably! Also to Samuel in the Basses.

As George is familiar with Fauré's Requiem I'm delighted he will be singing with us at our All Souls Day performance on 2nd November.

I'm three months behind with the Quiz answers now - I will sort the last three soon, I promise.

Rehearsals are critical over the next few weeks, so please prioritise them in your lives!

One or two of you have commented on my new car..........

It's a bit of an oddball, I know. THIS is what Jeremy Clarkson thought of it (on Top Gear - starts about 22 mins in). Faster than a Ferrari you see! Unbelievable, isn't it!! I'll make no further comment!!!

This month's Quiz Question

The four small circular windows (two of which we open in warm weather up in the Gallery ) in the upper level of the nave walls depict the four what?

Answers to me by the end of the month as usual please.
