Choir Outing Well, did anyone get any photo's of some of us on our day out, for our Choir scrapbook archive? I failed totally, but some of you must have succeeded? Please let me know if you are able to help. Tony

Prayers, please.....

George Norton, Anne Mitra, Mary & Frank Elliott, Maria Leszczynska & Family, Hazel Timmins (Jeannette Ryan's mother), and my dad, David.

Choir Party + Mass of Thanksgiving

Our 9th July Party is not so far away now! Please give some thought to what you might provide food-wise (and also entertainment wise!). As in previous years a culinary contribution or a £10 cash donation to be spent on food on your behalf will be called for.

Our Annual Mass of Thanksgiving will be on Tuesday 8th September at 8pm. September is the month of our inauguration way back in 1969. Choir resumes after the summer break on Tuesday 1st September so we have a week to prepare. Then it's Christmas all the way!

Latest Dates List

The latest dates list can be found HERE.

Choir Outing 2015

Sensible suggestions welcomed, and should be offered before the end of August (this year!) please. These events need to be planned some months in advance......

Choir Outing - The Bus + Pictures!

In response to some words from me about the exhaust smell, the bus company replied with a very sincere apology, stating that they had put the vehicle up on the ramp first-thing the next morning and found a hole in the exhaust (there's a big surprise!!). They are now trying to source a replacement part, and have taken the vehicle off-hire until it is remedied.

They have also acknowledged that some recompense might be due, telling me that they would
".... offer to you and your group, with the approval of the directors, a substantial reduction in the cost to make up for the problem you encountered yesterday....." that's against our 2015 trip! I could push the point, but they are good people, with a unique service, and have happily accommodated our needs at a reasonable cost. Modern coaches are prohibitively expensive, and nothing like as interesting (nostalgic?)!

The first of Derek Hayward's terrific pictures of the weekend's events at The Bluebell are available from HERE. Among them is an absolutely wonderful picture of Richard!! Do have a look! Scroll down, then 'next', scroll down, then... etc. You can't miss it!!

Friday 6th June 10am Mass

I have been advised that Jed Perkins's reception into the ministry of Lector by Bishop Pat will now take place at 7.30pm rather than 10am. The Family Choir will be present, and will more than ably deal with the music required. No doubt some of you will attend the Mass anyway, as Jed progresses to Ordination as Deacon. Apologies for passing on the wrong name last month: Poor Christian Leggett didn't know what was happening to him!!!

June's Quiz Question

If a chalice is used at Mass to contain the Blood of Christ, what is the name of the vessel used to contain the Body of Christ?

After no correct answers for March and April there's still time to answer May's question!

For your coffee breaks

The Pedant's Revolt: from Simon Heffer's recently published book - The Mail HERE.

A pertinent rant from Fr. John Zuhlsdorf about reverence in church HERE.

Presto from Summer (Vivaldi's Four Seasons), but with a difference!

Come and Sing Duruflé Requiem
7.30pm Saturday 14th June, 2014 at St Peter's Church, Streatham

There will be a workshop during the day for singers. Click HERE for details.
Conductor: Philip Collin
