St. Bartholomew's Polyphony Choir UPDATE FEBRUARY 2018

Easter 2018

I hope to have the Music Lists for the Triduum sorted in time to circulate on Tuesday 6 February. I'm waiting Father Deo's decision on the Vigil Psalms which should be with me by the 28 January.

Christmas 2018!

It has been suggested this might be a nice addition for the Concert - the suggestee will remain anonymous!!! What do you think?

Christmas Concert Videos

I'm still waiting for Father Innocent's remaining videos, and, as he has been on holiday, am being patient with him!

I have seen four of them, and there are hopefully another four to come. I *may* share the best of them with you at a future date. Each one is a huge file, far larger than email will cope with.

I'll see if I might be able to put one or two of them up on the Website so that just the readers of Update will be able to view them in all their glory.

The February Jigsaw - a very famous Catholic venue in southern England! Drag and drop........! Have you spotted the little symbol bottom-right beneath the puzzle that allows more space on your screen?

Plainchant Choir

19:30 Practices: 13 February and 13 March.

Cantors

19:45 Practices: Andrew 30 January, Ken 20 March.

Forthcoming Music/Dates List

February HERE, March HERE. The latest Dates List for your diaries is HERE.

Prayers, please

Please remember especially at this time Terry Jupp's sister Susan and a Choir Member's urgent Private Intention. Also Veronica's sister Monica, John Windsor, Ken's niece Beth, Carole Winch, Mary & Frank Elliott, Maria & Family, and Jeannette's mother Hazel.

We desperately need an organist

Please do ask around, consult friends and relatives, ask them if they might know of someone, or know someone who might.....

The commitment is at least a couple of Tuesdays before each occasion we sing, and all the Sundays, Feasts and occasions that we sing for. It could suit a competent Grade 7-8 pianist looking to explore the pipe organ.

There is a monthly stipend attached to the role, the amount negotiable according to ability.

In the interim, I ask you all for your patience during this difficult time.

I propose to hold at least the first two Tuesday practices each month in the church with the piano from February onwards.

For your coffee breaks

When does Christmas finish?

For those who wish to receive news in Latin.

A tour of London Bridge Station after its recent near completion.

Some of you will remember Leslie Crowther - I am especially fond of those in the Choir young enough not to!!

An interesting piece from Father Z about Irish Catholicism.

There's a certain pathos running through this documentary about Benny Hill.

From the Catholic Herald: Damian Hinds, the Catholic being tipped as a future prime minister.

There are a few of us that are still in the gallery every Tuesday evening and one who we hear every Christmas - can you spot us!?!!

HOW DO YOU EAR YOURS?
