I'm sending this.....

..... a little earlier than usual as Easter is so close to us.

Many thanks for all the hard work you have put into the learning since Christmas. I'm growing in confidence!! Next Tuesday's rehearsal is critical, so your attendance is vital.

After Easter we'll start learning a new Mass, Mass of St. Christopher by James Lyon (it's in your folders already if you want to start looking at it), and revising another. As previously said, I'll be opening up the first 40 minutes of each Tuesday to any and all who might want to come along and experience the Choir, in the hope that a short commitment might draw one or two more into the fold. It might be good if we started promptly at 20:00, please.

Have a wonderfully happy, holy and eggy Easter!

No Choir Tuesday 3 April....!! You've earned it.

Choir Outing 2018

I'm sorry this is taking a little longer than usual to sort out. As you will be aware, we're planning to go up to High Mass at Westminster Cathedral on 10 June, and then have lunch together, and then.....?? Details soon.

Organist needed!!

Please do ask around, consult friends and relatives, ask them if they might know of someone, or know someone who might.....

The commitment is at least a couple of Tuesdays before each occasion we sing, and all the Sundays, Feasts and occasions that we sing for. It could suit a competent Grade 7-8 pianist looking to explore the pipe organ. There is a monthly stipend attached to the role, the amount negotiable according to ability.

In the interim, I ask you all for your patience during this difficult time. I propose to continue to hold at least the first two Tuesday practices each month in the church with the piano.

Prayers, please

Please remember especially at this time Terry Jupp's sister Susan and a Choir Member's urgent Private Intention.

Also Jean Cowie, Veronica's sister Monica, John Windsor, Ken's niece Beth, Carole Winch, Mary & Frank Elliott, Maria & Family, and Jeannette's mother Hazel.

Snow - if you don't remember 1947 you might remember 1963 - God bless you if you remember neither!! Contrast with the beasts from the east!!

Tongue in cheek.... or is it? Why Catholics are so bad at Evangelising - and what needs to change.

some additional pictures have been added to the history of our church page.

There are a number of other press cuttings beyond the one to the left on our Web site - for some they might bring back memories, for others they might prove to be of interest in knowing more about our parish history - they can be found HERE.

Sending your Apologies

I fully appreciate there are times when you find yourselves very suddenly unable to attend a Choir Practice or Mass, and I always do my utmost to pass on the apology you send to those you sing alongside.

Please do be aware though that at 18:30 I turn away from email and texts and start printing the Music lists that you see when you arrive. I leave home for church at about 18:50. If you have an immediate apology, please do do let me know before 18:30.

If you have a longer-term apology, then please do let me know as soon as you are aware you will be unable to attend, please. There is nothing more frustrating than to be told a few days before a Choir occasion or event that you will not be attending as a result of something that you have known about for a long time before-hand. I have to plan the music we sing some weeks in advance of each occasion. I work on the basis of a 100% turnout unless I know otherwise. Just saying. Please be thoughtful. Thank you.
