September's Plainchant Mass

Please remember we have Plainchant Mass at 11:30 on Sunday 16 September! Jane will not be with us so it is very straightforward - the Music List.

Website security

This Website now has SSL Certification, and its address in your browser bars will eventually show as  https://polychoir.co.uk/ - this might take a little while to happen if you have our Website bookmarked unless you either clear you browser cache, or re-bookmark to the new web address.

It means that visitors, especially those using Chrome, will be aware that we are a trustworthy Website. It also indicates that everything behind the scenes is now encrypted for maximum security.

Equally, the Parish Website has become https://stbartsnorbury.co.uk/.

St. Bart's Memories No. 17
Our Parish History

No picture this time, just a request for a memory to be found.

One of the most notable absences in the parish history that Richard and Andrew are currently revising is an image of our church pre-1929, before the nave was added.

It's possible that such an image might be found by them by visiting the Lambeth Archives, or even the Croydon Archives, but someone may know of someone who might already have something they might put forward....... ?

Open Road

Snippets of the last eight minutes of this wonderful colour round-Britain trip from 1924 appeared on social media and in the on-line press recently - see the whole video by clicking on the thumbnail image - fascinating!

For your coffee breaks

Wonderful? Sentimental? Lovely? Syrupy? Thoughtful? Watch for about seven minutes, and then you decide.

It's notable, in the clickable first picture, what is and what isn't present on the sanctuary at Corpus Christi, Maiden Lane.

The July 2018 Chorister Newsletter.

The hidden history of Gin & Tonic.

Widor's famous Toccata for six hands at the Royal Albert Hall!!

Chicago, during The Great Depression. Fascinating historical footage.

All those weird liturgical hats!

Tactile paving - there's more to it than I ever knew!

Who remembers Lynx, Impulse and more?!

Premier League to Priesthood.

Seven of the most startling moments in the history of The Proms.

And finally.. 360 video of Buckingham Palace - use your mouse (or finger!) to control the image!
