St. Bartholomew's Polyphony Choir UPDATE JANUARY 2019

Christmas 2018

As we approach Midnight Mass, I'd like to wish you all, and yours, a very happy Christmas, and every good wish for 2019.

Please remember we start at 23:30 very promptly on Christmas Eve, so arrive in plenty of time to park/walk to the church and finally check your music is order. Thank you.

The Concert went really well, unequivocally!! Thanks you all so much for all you did to make it such a success. Thanks, especially, to the Altos who rehearsed with Rosemary and the Descanters who rehearsed with Jeannette, both on a number of occasions on the run-up to the Concert. Gentlemen, I also have to say you were on fine form! Jeannette and Molly, you both read really clearly and beautifully. Thanks especially to Antony for being with us again for the occasion. The Brass were great too - a really successful occasion all round. Well done to you!!

New Year 2019

We start the New Year with our Epiphany Mass on 6 January at 11:30 as usual. The following Tuesday we have a break for our Christmas Drinks in the upstairs hall starting at 19:30 - as I have mentioned before, the First Holy Communion Group has its first big meeting the same evening starting at 20:00, so do plan to get the church early if you wish to find a parking space with relative ease!! Three consecutive Tuesdays with no Choir practice - seldom has that happened before!! On Tuesday 15 January it's back to the grindstone I'm afraid, but with a late Easter we have three Masses to prepare for before the Triduum...........

A new organist may, perhaps, possibly,.....

..... be on the horizon. Please keep up the prayers to Our Lady that things work out for us.

Sorry this is so early and rather brief, but.....

..... as many of you will be aware our youngest, Sarah, decided to get married to John, after over ten years together, on 29 December. This adds a certain amount (!) of additional pressure to family life, and also the need to prepare for a speech I'm informed!! Please say a prayer for them that they a long and happy life together.

The January Jigsaw - a trickier one this month, but may possibly prove to be seasonal, and you'll all have time on your hands........!
