St. Bartholomew's Polyphony Choir UPDATE  AUGUST 2020

Well, we've now had the resumption of Masses at St. Bart's, albeit on a limited basis, but there's no sign of us being able to sing again. I think we're going to have to be very patient (which doesn't come easily to me some might say!!!).

Choir officially finished for the summer on Tuesday 14 July! No music checking, and (far worse!) no party!!

The parish seems to be just about dealing with the re-opening of the church for Mass with the social distancing and hygiene  guidelines in place and the limited numbers able and/or willing to attend. Such social distancing will be very difficult in the gallery, particularly around the cupboards with all the music in, let alone the benches.

The gallery is currently closed. I'm hoping to get in this month and exercise the organ..... Whilst I (as we all must) hope for a return and sing on 15 September, reality may well yet prove somewhat different. We can only wait and see how things turn out.

Before we do return, I fully expect to be asked to set out how we will meet any 'guidance' that is in place at the time. Covid-19, Health and Safety, Archdiocese etc., etc.  With 'patient' (Grrrrr) love to you all, Tony x

PS: Farewell to Father Tomasz, who leaves us for Bromley on 31 August.

PPS: Huge thanks to those of you have been in touch recently (even Eddie!).

PPPS: Whenever we start we'll party (somehow, somewhere!!) !

The August Jigsaw48 pieces - this bridge has, sadly, been closed for over a year following its collapse - the jigsaw image has been taken from a delightful (though I say it myself!) River Wandle-orientated on-line Exhibition HERE.

Prayers, please

Please say a prayer for Rosemary, who has had the misfortune to break her ankle (which must be incredibly frustrating just as lockdown is eased a little). I won't recount the circumstances here....

Otherwise, I'm aware that the list below has changed little. Please do let me know if any one should be (happily) removed or (more sadly) added.

Suzanne's Mum remains unwell in a nursing home in Ireland. We continue to pray for Maria's recovery, Veronica's husband Graham and sister Monica, Ken's niece Beth, Mary & Frank Elliott and my Mum & Dad, Sheila and David. With visiting the sick and needy being so difficult at the moment, perhaps an extra prayer or two continues to be warranted.
